Something Borrowed & Something Blue

Recently, I have been fond of reading novels. It all started when a friend told me about this book, Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin, which according to her was something extraordinary and very funny and exciting and many more and's... Then I got curious and started to read about few pages and then I loved it. She was right, the story was really good and I finished it in about almost 2 weeks since I was quite busy that time.

The story is about betrayal, best friends, engagement and the unexpected things that might happen in between. It's realistic and could really happen in real life. Rachel and Dex are law school friends who eventually got together, I mean together-together, behind Darcy's back, who is at that time, Dex's fiancee and Rachel's best friend. Then the engagement went off partly because of them and something else.

The author was brilliant and quite the reason why I've been into reading novels now. I'm not the book-ish type of person but this author and the story brought me into the world of books. Currently, I'm reading another novel and hopefully could finish the whole series.

After I finished reading the e-book, I bought a DVD and watched it. Some lines, characters and scenes have been omitted and/or replaced, as what they usually do on the movies. But still, I loved the movie. I loved how it turned out and I love how they portrayed and made adjustments and changes.

Sometime after the Something Borrowed fever I had, I decided to read it's sequel--Something Blue. On the first book, the main character was Rachel who works as a partner at a law firm. On the second book, the spotlight's on Darcy, the best friend, who works at a PR company in New York. Yes, she's a socialite.

Now, the story is about Darcy's new love affair, new life, pregnancy and her moving to London to start afresh. Til the end, she didn't expect she'll fall completely in love with Ethan, a friend of both Rachel and Darcy, which in the end became her husband and the father of her twin boys whose biological father is nowhere to be found at the end of the novel. Quite tragic but still a happy ending.

I'm hoping they're also making a movie out of this brilliant sequel. I so adore the author and her astonishing mind. This would surely make a great blockbuster and surely, we'll learn a lot from the movie/s. Now, I'm reading another author's work and soon, I'll be talking about it too.
